At the age of 37, Nancy Rivera died away peacefully on March 26, 2024, surrounded by her amazing family. Nancy’s courageous battle with cancer has won her a place in God’s arms, where she will be loved forever as His beloved daughter. Nancy was born on March 13, 1987, into a family of Gilberto and Natty Rivera, and she has spent her entire childhood living in the Mayfair Neighborhood.

She was raised in this neighborhood after being born here. She proudly attended Lane Tech High School and later pursued a master’s degree at Calumet College of St. Josephs to further her education. She committed herself to serve her community as a City of Chicago police officer throughout this entire period. Nancy, together with her sisters Nia, Enid, Sally, and Monica, brought joy and laughter to her family.

She was the family’s middle child and the middle kid out of five females. Her auntly role benefitted her beloved nephews Jayden and Julius, as well as her nieces Jaylani, Brittney, Jessica, and Sarah, all of whom she fully utilized. As years passed, Nancy’s faithful companion Jupiter remained a constant source of affection and solace for her human family. Nancy was incredibly gorgeous and intelligent, and she had a lot of drive and ambition, which showed in everything she did.

She was a loyal friend who found happiness and fulfillment in the ties she had with the people she loved. Nancy’s friends, family, and coworkers at the Chicago Police Department provided her with unwavering support throughout her ordeal. Her family would want to thank both organizations from the bottom of their hearts. With the utmost love, Nancy We will always hold your memories close to our hearts for as long as we live. On Monday, April 1st, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, there will be a visitation to honor Nancy’s life at TOHLE FUNERAL HOME. A procession to ST. EDWARD CHURCH, where a Mass will be said at 10:30 AM, will come next.
